PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway, Jonathan Allard simply made an error on a restart at the halfway point, and spun out of his second running position and ended up rallying to a 10th place finish.

“The driver got in the way of a great car tonight,” said a disappointed Allard. “I made a mistake on a restart and it took us out of it tonight.”

PETERSEN MEDIA: Jonathan Allard learned a valuable lesson on Friday night, and that is starting in the back on a heavy track is not a good mix, as the Chico, CA driver went through 40-tearoffs in 26 laps and was forced to retire into the pits.

      JA Ends NZ Tour with 11 Wins

PETERSEN MEDIA: Chico, CA driver Jonathan Allard ended his tour down under with an astounding 11 wins in just 15 stars, as he wrapped up his season last Saturday night.

“I can’t say enough about my guys,” said Allard. “This car was bad fast since the day we hit the track back in December. I can’t thank the good people at the Porter Group, Hydraulink, Albany Toyota, and Valvoline enough for making this trip possible.”

      Second at New Zealand Championship

PETERSEN MEDIA: With all of his success in New Zealand, Jonathan Allard still had the 42nd New Zealand Championship at South Island’s Ruapuna Speedway as the race he wanted to win above all others. After all, JA was the defending winner, and was able to adorn the number 1NZ this season.

The event got underway on Friday night with a pair of heat races, then concluded Saturday with two more heat races to ultimately put the top-18 in the 25-lap feature event.

Friday night, JA and his Porter Group/Hydraulink/Albany Toyota backed machine opened the weekend stout, as he gridded the field from the pole position, and proceeded to dominate the heat and pick up the win.

      Night 1 of 2012 NZ Sprintcar Championship
The 42nd Annual New Zealand Sprintcar Championship at South Island's Ruapuna Speedway in Christchurch got underway Friday evening on a cold overcast day. A very good Friday crowd turned up to watch 26 Sprintcars battle it out to get the most amount of points before tomorrow evenings last two rounds of heats and the 25 lap New Zealand Sprintcar Championship final.
